First place Raven visited after moving onto her empty lot, with $50 to her name, was none other than Twinbrook Community Gardens. She harvested a few plants, before catching a Monarch Butterfly and a Rhino Beetle.
After all that work, Raven had worked up an appetite, so she ate some apples from the fresh fruit she had just picked.
While at the Gardens, Raven caught a glance at this couple, Rich and Rosy Wheloff, and secretly hoped that someday, she too would have someone to cuddle with.
Raven also met this woman, Carrie Rutherford, who was ranting on about a book she had recently written.
Raven explained her homeless situation to Carrie and was able to mooch $1 off her. Then Raven went one step further and thanked Carrie for the $1, but also added that she needed money to pay her bills with. Carrie must’ve felt sorry for Raven, because she gave her $10, without hesitation.
Raven spent the night on the soft loveseat at the Gardens, then went home and planted 2 apple trees and a tomato plant. She needed to make some money and thought this would help.
Raven then ate some bell peppers, and headed off to the Science Center to sell the beetle for $130, which helped her purchase the only furniture she would own for awhile, a park bench. Raven chose to keep the Monarch and name her Mishi, she decided Mishi would be keep her from getting lonely.
Raven woke up from her nap, and decided to check the weekly events for some free fun, and this is what was going on for the week. Raven’s definitely going to be taking part in the chess tournament.
By the second night, Raven needed a shower something awful, so she went to the gym, showered up, then spent the night on the gym couch.
Raven went home the next morning, and talked to Mishi for awhile, telling her butterfly friend how badly she wanted to get to her goal of $20,000, so she could buy them a new home. That was when she decided their had to be a faster way to raise some money. She decided to rummage through trash cans. Twinbrook was full of people who were just throwing away perfectly good items, just because they tired of them. The first trash can she rummaged through belonged to the Castor family, then she went to the Elam’s home, which was being haunted at the time. Raven wasn’t even bothered by the spirits haunting the home. Between both cans, she found 2 bath ducks, 2 teddies, some scrap, an expensive gem, and a candle. She now has $2,054.
Bethany Elam arrived home, just as Raven had finished rummaging through her can, and Raven couldn’t resist asking for a hot meal.
Bethany gave Raven a hot bowl of soup, which Raven scarfed down, then washed her dishes. She figured if people were going to be nice enough to help her out, then she ought to return the favor, by cleaning up after herself. She even managed to get half a bath, before the Bethany’s young son shooed her home, spouting off that Raven was behaving inappropriately. Raven went home happy though, she spent the third night on her own little park bench, next to her butterfly friend. Things are looking up for Raven already, even though she has the unlucky trait.
Will things continue to go right for Raven, or will they go south? Find out soon, in Chapter 2. Until then, God Bless!
Awww! I love that things are starting to look up for Raven! It's great that she knows some really kind people :)

Aww, thank you Olga! I actually can't believe things are going so well for her, since she has the unlucky trait, LOL, but I am glad.
ReplyDeleteAn unlucky mooch? Oh, man! I LOVE IT! The spirits looked like little glowing butterbies! Speaking of which, Mishi is an adorable name for a little Monarch. (:
ReplyDelete*crosses fingers that Raven will find someone to snuggle with in the future* I am really enjoying this so far!
